Believe it or not, men get yeast infections too. Not just the thrush infection that’s common in men with HIV either. Penile yeast infections are common and growing statically. As would be expected, they’re not very pleasant either. Heterosexual couples have a high chance of passing the infection back and forth endlessly so I think it’s a good idea that you get a handle on where in the world this thing came from.
I guess understandably, there’s not a lot of information out there concerning male yeast infections because it’s such an embarrassing subject matter. Hopefully this page goes a little way to change that.
Men contract yeast infections in much the same ways that women do. The bacteria is exactly the same but the likelihoods of each method of contraction are much different. The main causes of male yeast infections are as follows:
Sexually transmitted – The yeast, candida, is often transmitted by direct contact with someone who has the infection. Most often it is the case that an infected woman has unprotected sex with her partner passing it on to him in the process. Treatments for women are so common that she will go cure it and then receive the infection again from her infected partner. What’s more is that often, men don’t even show symptoms of a yeast infection until late in the case. The infection is passed back and forth between lovers quite often and a vicious cycle of the bacteria takes place. Sexual intercourse should be kept down to avoid the risk of reinfection. Hands must be washed very well in hot water after touching the affected area to avoid spreading the infection any further.
Condoms – Sometimes, the condom companies include a chemical in their lubricants that is rumored to contribute to yeast infections. The chemical is called nonoxynol-9, it even sounds evil. It is a spermicidal agent added to the lubricant and is rumored to be a cause of yeast infections in men. If you suffer from male yeast infections often, I suggest trying one of the many condoms out there without the spermicidal lubricant on them.
Antibiotics – Believe it or not, some antibiotics have the ability to influence the bacterial homeostasis of your penis. Prolonged usage of some antibiotics will upset the natural flow of your bacteria that you could develop a yeast infection. Antibiotic literally means “kill living things” so when you use it, it could get rid of some of the good bacteria living in your crotch allowing normally-occurring yeast to take over the region.
Diabetes – If you’re a man with diabetes you are more susceptible to yeast infection. The elevated levels of sugar in the urine make for yummy food for yeast cultures and give it a competitive advantage over other bacteria in the area. If you have to urinate often, have constant yeast infections, and you’re constantly thirsty you might want to pick up “Natural Cure for Yeast Infection” to get rid of the infections once and for all and then pay a quick visit the doctor to see if you have diabetes.
Remember, no matter how you got it, you get rid of it with the “Natural Cure for Yeast Infection” book.
